Hi, I’m MG (short for MaryGabrielle).

I’m a researcher, lecturer, and Expository Writing instructor at Harvard University.

My research focuses on children’s story world absorption — the experience of becoming “hooked,” or immersed, in books — and how absorptive reading supports students’ literacy development.

In addition to my research and teaching, I write a series of picture books for children with chronic conditions and food allergies.
